With over 25 years in the field of special education, I currently hold the position of Assistant Principal of the Middle and High School Transitional Programs here at Valley Collaborative. My passion has always been working collaboratively to build strong culture and developing a sense of belonging for all staff and students. My career at Valley Collaborative began as a special education teacher in the middle school, and my experience collaborating with other teachers, administration, therapists, and middle school staff promoted the importance of working closely with a team. I am so proud and thankful to be part of the Valley family for over 20 years and being a part of building the strong culture that exists here at Valley today.
I always knew that I wanted to serve the Special Education world even as a freshman in high school, supporting kids with learning challenges completing their homework at a local daycare center, where I worked for 8 years. My pursuit of being an educator brought me to Wheaton College where I completed my undergraduate work majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education. From there I received my Master’s in Special Education at Framingham State College. During that time, I spent 6 years at the Protestant Guild before finding my forever home at Valley Collaborative.
